Flora and fauna

Magellanic evergreen forest. The dominant species are: Coigüe de Magallanes, Canelo, Cypress of the Guaitecas and Cypress of the Cordillera, Arrayán, etc.

La fauna del lake is made up of the Cougar from the south, huemul and pudú.

Climate

The predominant climate is maritime temperate-cold and rainy with annual rainfall close to 2,973 mm. It is characterized because the average temperature of the warmest month is less than 14 °C, the mean winter minimums do not reach 0 °C. There are more than four months with temperatures above 10 °C.
